The Sporting Life

I’m not the biggest sports fan out there. But I like a challenge, to get to test my abilities in areas that, let’s say, are not my strongest. So when The Reporter-Times asked me to cover some spring sports, I said yes without thinking twice.

It wasn’t like I went in completely ignorant of sports. After all, I’ve written sports articles for the UIndy student newspaper. As Editor-in-Chief, I edited quite a few, too. But there were times when I had to look up rules and find the right terminology for the sport.

A friend of mine who’s a sports writer for another newspaper even gave me some advice.  Although his words “Simple? you betcha” were a little inaccurate for me, I think that it was easier than I thought.
